A Lancashire Lad.
Initially a ‘silk-screen fine art printer.
I have taught Art and Ceramics at school and college level for many years. More recently I established adult art groups in Rossendale and Euxton, Chorley.
Throughout I have used acrylics and watercolour and more recently acrylics exclusively, sometimes embellishing with oils. I regard composition as being of primary importance.
I try to capture the ‘soul”, in essence, the ‘mood’ of each special place.
My artwork tends to be ‘representational’. I create artwork based on landscapes in the UK and places I have visited abroad, including: New Zealand, the USA and The Mediterranean.
I have exhibited in galleries throughout the North West and as far south as Brighton. I have sold artwork to Germany, Holland, Belgium and California, USA.
My work may be seen in on-line galleries and has been accepted into several Art Fairs in Lancashire, including Trawden Art Fair, Art Fair East, Norwich and for several years consecutively in Liverpool Art Fair.
I have had Solo Exhibitions at Alston Hall, Preston, Colne at The Innside Hotel, Liverpool and at BL Studios, Horwich, Bolton.
I have appeared on BBC TV on ‘Home is Where the Art is’ with Nick Knowles. My painting of ‘Ashness Cyclist’ won through.
I accepted many commissions as a result of the program.
